Don’t say it.  It might not be summer anymore.

Unlike Uncle Crappy, I don’t really like winter that much.  Let me restate.  I don’t like it when it’s below 50 degrees.  Maybe it’s because I don’t really have fun winter hobbies other than What Not To Wear Marathons and indoor cycling with the help of Coach Troy.  Maybe it’s because it’s never sunny in Cleveland in the winter.  Or maybe because I just don’t like to wear socks.  I don’t really know.  It’s probably a combination of things.

Today was the crusher.  I had to empty my pots of flowers.  I emptied them because if I don’t the soil in them will freeze and cause the pots to crack.  Antique Flower pots cracking make me and Baby Jesus cry.

To illustrate how much I despise winter, I’m going to wax on about my athletic prowess and what a stud I am.  Yes, it’s true.  I am a super athlete, I’m fast, I’m crafty and I’m good.  (which, if you really know me, is utter lies)  So, enough of my whining.  Here’s what I’m going to do to temporarily distract myself until April or May.

Marathon

DD and I signed up to walk/run a half marathon in May 2010.  It’s pretty official, too.  We just handed in our registration papers.  So we’re in.  what am I effing thinking? Marathon training may take up a bit of our time.  Training while experiencing sheer terror about running a freakin’ marathon should distract me, no?

Cross Training

Why flake out on the training thing when we can actually cross train? We had a great training season last year because we actually enjoyed training for three separate disciplines.  We’d swim and our arms would be sore.  Not to worry because the next day we got to run.  Running doesn’t really involve shoulders, so they got a rest.  The next day we’d bike, which uses different muscles than the previous two.  So we were good to go.

Once again, the actual act of working out will distract me from dwelling on winter.  Because  I can’t stand it when it’s below 50 degrees.

Fundraising

Oh no, I just got carried away with myself.  DD and I will also raise about $3700 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society so that we can participate in the marathon.  That takes up a little bit of time, too.  Actually, a lot of time.

Enough distractions?  Absolutely.  Winter?  What Winter?

Then I took a nice long shower and climbed into bed.  It was probably 8:30.  I read for a while and fell asleep around 10.  As I was slipping into a nice sleep, I put a blog post together in my head.  Wrote the whole thing in my head.  Wanted to get up and post it.  Was. Way. Too. Sleepy.

So does it count if I posted to my blog in my head?  I think it does.

That’s how it goes sometimes with the iPhone.  There’s a 50/50 chance on me misspelling something on twitterrific.  There’s a 100 percent chance AutoCorrect iPhone will misspell something for me.  And then a 50 percent chance I will catch the error before posting.

My favorite Apps so far:

• Twitterrific Multiple feeds and no logging in and out to access them
• Weather Channel Always at my fingertips for an instant fix
• Facebook Great for trolling through people’s photos during down time.  I feel like a freak though, I check out photos and rarely interact with my “friends”
• Topple2 My new favorite game to play when I want to chill
• Email Multiple accounts  so I can stay on top of things even though I am browsing for  shoes at TJMaxx
• Pandora My music fix so I don’t have to deal with my iPod

Things I still need to complete:

• To Do List App Does anyone have any suggestions?
• Contacts Finish importing from my old cell
• Synch I need to get better about doing this
