My New Notebook

Image

A friend gave me a little notebook that I carry in my purse every day.  I just recently remembered an old habit of mine based on my post from earlier this Fall.  I caught myself needing to adjust my attitude and my vision.  I working on a long term fix for that.

I get out my notebook and a pen and start to think about all the things I’m grateful for at the moment.  It can start simply:

  • I’m grateful that I can see the things I’m grateful for
  • I’m grateful that I can hear things
  • I’m grateful that I can taste things
  • I’m grateful that I can feel things
  • I’m grateful for the air I’m breathing
  • I’m grateful for the bounty in my kitchen & my vegetable garden
  • I’m grateful for the money I have to pay my bills every month
  • I’m grateful for the bed, comforter and pillows I sleep on every night
  • I’m grateful for the car I get to drive to work
  • I’m grateful for my job
  • I’m grateful for the satisfaction I have at work
  • I’m grateful for the friends I have at work
  • I’m grateful for my loyal and kind clients
  • I’m grateful for all my wonderful friends, new and old
  • I’m eternally grateful for my family, the ones here and the ones in spirit
  • I’m eternally grateful for my delightful and loving husband
  • I’m grateful I can take a few minutes to inventory my gratitude

With each item, I write the words Thank You in my book.  I have a growing book of pages that simply say Thank You.  I also have an archive of notebooks at home.  Full of gratitude for the small, simple things and all of the big things.

Here’s wishing you and yours a warm, loving Thanksgiving spent with the people who matter to you.  The ones to whom you are most grateful.
