It was a great weekend. Almost all activities revolved around the team ride on Saturday. We stayed in on Friday to get ready for the ride. Got up at 6 am to get to the ride. Drove 45 minutes to get to the start. Rode for 4 hours. Drove home in a hurry. Had a cook out. Slept for 12 hours. Watched entirely too many episodes of Weeds. Slept some more. Watched more Weeds. Slept. Got up to go to work today.
The ride was the infamous Medina Meander. It’s 44 miles of steep hills, rollers and pretty, pretty country riding. It’s a “do-able” ride in that if it was any longer, it would break most people. One girl, who’s a strong rider said that the last hill into the parking lot made her want to lay down in the woods and cry.
So there’s that. Apparently the rest of the rides are longer but easier. 6 more weeks of team rides and we will do our “real” ride. Until then, you get to hear me talk about it. I promise this won’t turn into a bicycle blog. Promise.
