Going to Florida was a good thing. The most important was the getting away part and going to the Sunshine. The second most important, in hindsight? The smell and the taste of Florida. The grass smelled good. The trees smelled good. The dirt, I could smell the dirt. The smells created a memory for me. I remember what it’s like to be in the warmth, the sun and Summer.
The Ocean smelled amazing too. I actually went swimming. The water tasted good too. Salty and kind of chilly. Again, it created a memory of Sun, Summer and warm. I’m holding on to it for dear life. Spring is on the way.
It’s supposed to snow again on Wednesday. I’m ok with it. It will cover up the piles of snirt that are everywhere. (Snirt = snow + dirt) Hopefully it will all melt soon and maybe we’ll see some snowdrops or maybe even a daffodil bud poking up from the lawn.
